Seven programs, from six weeks through six years

Each program is planned around what a child can do next.

Seven young children run across a grassy lawn toward the camera, with a white fence and house behind them.

6 Weeks Through 18 Months

Infant

Infant rooms are loving and beautiful, built for contact, movement, and developmental exploration. Respect for each child's needs, routines, and development guides everything here. Your baby is treated as the individual they already are. In this room, an infant is not being prepared for something else. The day is the work, and it is taken seriously.

18 Months Through 3 Years

Pre-Primary (Toddler)

Toddlers are drawn toward doing things for themselves, and the room is set up for that. Practical Life materials fill the shelves: pouring, sorting, fastening, carrying. These activities build independence, concentration, fine motor control, and self-esteem. Language grows alongside, because this is the age when it surges. The child chooses, works, and repeats until satisfied.

Five children lie on their stomachs on a white fluffy surface, propping their heads on their hands and smiling at the camera.

3 Years Through Kindergarten

Primary

Primary is where children make themselves, and the classroom supports that. Each child works independently, at their own pace, gathering social, physical, intellectual, and emotional skills along the way. The room is prepared for mixed ages, so younger children watch older ones and older ones teach. Children must be three by September 1st, and fully toilet-trained, to enter.

1st Through 4th Grade

Elementary

Elementary continues the Montessori path without a break. Children here study reading, creative writing, grammar, and spelling. They take up mathematics, including geometry, and explore general science, botany, and zoology. History, geography, and social studies are part of the week, along with music, art, Chinese or French, and physical education. The work grows more complex as the child does.

Full or half days

Montessori education at an early age gives children room to grow intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. Teachers are experienced and qualified, and they guide children toward independence and a love of learning. Families choose full or half days, and the school runs year round. Locally owned, it serves children from six weeks to six years.

Before and after care

Before and after care at IMSchools feels homelike. In the morning, children listen to soft music and choose Legos, puzzles, blocks or coloring. In the afternoon, after playground time and a healthy snack, they pick similar activities, often joining a craft or game. Older children may finish classroom work if they wish.

Summer Camp

Summer camp runs nine weeks, June through August. Children from six weeks to six years take part alongside the school-year groups. The camp follows the same Montessori approach, with full or half days available. Families can ask the school for the camp schedule and what to pack.
