What to expect
Before and After School
Before care runs 7:30 to 9am and after care runs 3 to 6pm. Children choose activities like Legos, puzzles, blocks and coloring. After school they have playground time and a healthy snack. Additional hours can be requested at the rate of $10 per hour with advance notice.

What this looks like in practice
In a typical before and after care room, there is a stretch of open time and a small set of choices. A child arrives, finds a spot, and starts something without being told what to do. Teachers move among the tables, helping where help is wanted and leaving room where it is not.
The benefit shows up at home in small ways. A child who has practiced choosing an activity settles into dinner or quiet time more easily. The day has had room in it, and the child carries that steadiness back with them.
